Managing Director of Peru, Carlos Ledesma, was invited by the Chamber of the Americas (COTA) to speak on March 1, 2009 in Lima, at their Trade & Development Mission to Peru. Entitled “Mergers & Acquisitions in Peru”, Mr. Ledesma’s speech focused on the state of M&A in both Latin America and Peru and especially on the markets positive outlook of Peru’s economy going forward. Mr. Ledesma pointed out that despite the impact of the global economic crisis; Peru is expected to outperform most other Latin America countries this coming year with a growth rate of close to 5%. Peru has seen 86 consecutive months of economic growth and is attracting significant new foreign investment. 2008 investments finished at $8.4 billion, a 58% increase over 2007. $36 billion in new projects are scheduled through 2010.
Carlos Ledesma is a Managing Director for the Latin American Division of 1stWest M&A. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the Peruvian business and corporate finance arena.
